Liven up your St. Patrick's Day celebration with funny St. Patrick's Day Minute to Win It games. They are super easy 60 Second games to make for St. Patrick's Day parties, classroom parties, or family time at home. Fun St. Patrick's Day activities for younger kids, older kids, teens, and adults the whole family can enjoy together. 

The player's goal is to complete all the challenges within the 1-minute time limit.  Which really adds to the excitement level and creates some friendly competition. With 20 different games, you're sure to find a couple your family and friends will have a blast playing. 

How to Play Minute to Win It Games

To play the 60-second game players are given a series of challenges that they need to complete in 1 minute. You can play this game in large groups or small groups with family and friends.

Decide on Teams or Individuals

First, decide if players will compete as a group or individually. This really depends on how many people you have playing the game.

If you decide to have groups you will now pick who is on each team. Sometimes it’s easier to assign the groups ahead of time so there is no fighting.

Decide Which Games to Play & Supplies

Decide which games you want to play and make sure you have all the supplies ready. Supplies are listed with the games below.

Competitive Or Not

Now determine if you want it to be a competitive game or a friendly game. Players can simply try to beat the 1-minute timer or play to beat the other teams.

If you choose to be competitive make sure you have a chart to write down each player or team’s times. This will help you keep track of who won each game.

How to Win

The team member who completes the Minute to Win It challenges in 1 minute wins the game. If you are playing on teams or competitively and two or more players complete the challenge then the fastest player wins.

St. Patrick's Day 60 Second Challenges

Tip - Any of the candies and cereals can be switched to what you have so you don't have to buy all of these if you want to save money. For instance, switch Skittles candies to M&Ms.

1. Shamrock Shake Challenge

Supplies Needed – Empty tissue boxes, a belt or a long shoelace, 10 ping pong balls (yellow color or white), and green wrapping paper, or green tape.

How to Play – This game is Junk in the Trunk Holiday version. The first thing to do is make your St. Parick's Day box. I wrapped my tissue box in green tape but green wrapping paper, or green construction paper works too.

To make your box first wrap a Kleenex box in green paper making sure to leave the area you pull Kleenex tissues unwrapped.

Next, cut two slits on the opposite side of the box opening. Then have the belt or shoelace go through the slits. Lastly, add to the box 10 ping pong balls and place the box around a player’s waist with the belt.

Players then have 1 minute to shake out all their ping-pong balls. This is hilarious to watch!

Tip: Use yellow ping pong balls to look like gold.

2. Lucky Chop

Supplies Needed – Lucky Charms cereal, chopsticks for each player, bowls

How to Play - Give each play a pile of lucky charms cereal, two chopsticks, and a bowl. 

Players need to move as many lucky charms using the chopsticks into their bowl as they can before a minute is up. The first player to get all their cereal in the bowl or whoever gets the most cereal into their bowl wins. 

3. Leprechaun Gold Digger

Supplies - Green plastic Easter grass, gold coins, and a blindfold.

How to Play - Players are each given a large bowl of Easter grass mixed with hidden gold coins. They will place a blindfold across their eyes and have one minute to search and pull out as many gold coins as they can find. 

4. Thread the Rainbow

Supplies Needed – Fruit Loops cereal, pipe cleaner for each player

How to Play - Give each player a stack of fruit loops and a pipe cleaner. Players will string their fruit loops onto the pipe cleaner. The player with the most fruit loops strung onto the pipe cleaner wins. 

Tip: Check Dollar Store for generic Fruit Loops cereal to save money.

5. Leprechaun Balancing Act

Supplies Needed - Fruit Loops or Lucky Charms cereal, popsicle sticks or tongue depressors

How to Play - Players will be given 3-4 stacked cereal pieces to balance on a popsicle stick or a tongue depressor.  Place a chair on the other side of the room. Players need to put the popsicle stick between their teeth and balance the cereal while walking to the chair and back to where they started without dropping the cereal. The first player back to their starting location wins. 

6. Lucky Coin Toss

Supplies Needed - A green bucket, large green bowl or even a pan and plastic gold coins

How to Play - Players will be given a stack of gold coins and have 1 minute to try and toss as many coins into the green bucket as they can. The winner is the player with the most gold coins in their bucket. 

Tip: You could play this game by tossing in the Lucky Charms cereal instead of gold coins. 

7. Leprechaun Lung Power

Supplies Needed - Rainbow Skittles, Straws and bowls

How to Play - Players are given a pile of skittles and have one minute to use the straw to suck up a skittle and add it to the bowl. The player with the most Skittles in the bowl at the end of the minute wins. 

8. Mint Cookie Face

Supplies Needed - Mint Cookies or Mint Oreo Cookies

How to Play - Players place the cookie on their forehead and their hands behind their backs. They have one minute to try and get the cookie into their mouth without using their hands. 

9. Rainbow Wrap

Supplies Needed - Colored steamers or all green streamers

How to Play - This is a team game. Each team picks one teammate who will be wrapped with green streams. The team then has 1 minute to wrap their teammate. The first team to fully wrap their teammate wins.

10. The Great Irish Stack-Off

Supplies Needed - 42 Green or Gold plastic cups

How to Play – This is a classic cup-stacking game. The first team to play will be given 42 plastic cups in a single stack. When the 1-minute timer starts the player will need to stack all 42 cups into a pyramid without it falling down. Then take apart the pyramid and return the plastic cups into a single stack. First player to do this wins!

11. Magical Mix-Up

Supplies Needed - Lucky Charms cereal boxes or Fruit Loops cereal boxes

How to Play - To make the game cut up cereal boxes into puzzle pieces. The players will have one minute to put the puzzle pieces into the right positions to win. 

Tip: If younger kids are playing make the puzzle pieces bigger for older players make them smaller to be more challenging. 

12. Shamrock Style Show-Down

Supplies Needed - Lots of Green clothes, scarves, hats, necklaces, or anything green to layer

How to Play - Each player will have a pile of different green or gold clothes in front of them. They have one minute to put on all the clothes in their pile. 

13. Rainbow Game

Supplies - Skittles and a bowl for each color you'll be using or a large segmented platter

How to Play - Players will be given a pile of Skittles and a bowl for each color in the pile. Players will have to divide up the colors separately into each bowl. For example, all the green Skittles will be divided into one bowl. The first player to do this in 1 minute wins.

14. Clover Cup Challenge

Supplies - Ping pong balls and green plastic cups

How to Play - On a long table or desk tape a green plastic cup to hang off the edge of the table. You will need to have a plastic cup for each player. The goal of the game is to roll the ping pong balls across the table and into the hanging cup. Whichever player has the most ping pong balls in their cups at the end of a minute wins. 

Tip: Use yellow ping pong balls to represent gold going into the green bucket.

15. Don't Let the Luck Drop (Balloon Drop Game)

Supplies - Green or Gold balloons

How to Play - Give each player 2-3 balloons depending on their age. The player then has to keep all the balloons up in the air for 1 minute. 

16. Pot O' Gold Tower

Supplies - Plastic Gold Coins

How to Play - Give each player a large stack of gold coins. They then have one minute to pile the gold coins on top of each other to create the highest stack of coins. The winner is the first to stack all their coins or create the highest stack. 

17. Rainbow Switch

Supplies - Rainbow Skittles, tweezers, two bowls per player

How to Play - Each player is given a bowl full of Skittles, tweezers, and an empty bowl. They then have 1 minute to move as many Skittles with the tweezers over to the empty bowl as they can before the timer goes off. The player with the most Skittles moved to the empty bowl wins.

18. Green Face

Supplies - Whipped cream, green M&Ms, and larger bowls

How to Play - Make for each player a bowl filled with whipped cream and 5 green M&Ms. Players place their hands behind their backs and have 1 minute to use only their face and mouth to get as many M&M's out of the bowl as they can. 

The first player to get all the M&Ms out or whoever gets the most M&Ms wins. 

19. Bagpipe Race

Supplies - Green or gold balloons, little Dixie cups

How to Play - On the shorter side of a table or longer desk create a finish line on one side with painter's tape. On the other side of the table give each player a balloon and an empty cup. Players will blow up their balloon and use the air in the balloon to try and blow the upside-down cup across the finish line. First play to cross the finish line wins.

20. Gold Shake Up

Supplies - Chocolate gold candies, paper lunch bags

How to Play - In 5-7 lunch bags add different amounts of chocolate gold candies to each bag. Then staple the bag closed and write the number of chocolates on the bottom of the bag so no one can see it. 

Players have one minute to put the bags in the correct order from the smallest amount of chocolates to the largest amount of chocolates.
